all the Algarve has to offer.

in cuisine. Fish and seafood dishes are everywhere! Tuna, swordfish, dourada are popular for those who
can cope with the bones!
The most typical Portuguese fish dish is that created from bacalhau – dried salted codfish. It is virtually a
national dish with reputably 365 ways of preparing it including for Christmas day. Running close second is of courses sardines (sardinhas) which are grilled or barbecued outside providing one the country’s most appetising smells.
Piri Piri the red spicy chicken dish is available everywhere- but beware it is hot.
The most popular Beef dish is bife ậ Portuguesa – sirloin topped with smoked ham, cooked in a clay dish and served on a bed of French fries. Some restaurants feature sucking pig – leitão, quail and game such as wild oar. |
